Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) ("TSS")
3 streams

Short term: maximum of 2 years or 4 years if an international trade obligation (ITO) applies

Medium term: up to 4 years with eligibility to apply for permanent residence after three years

Labour agreement: special agreement with the Commonwealth. Must demonstrate Australian labour and first 2 streams not available.

Do a Skills Assessment (only if it applies to your job)

Meet the requirements of the 482 visa, at the time the decision is being considered

Substantial compliance of existing visa (if in Australia)

Approved sponsor nomination

Genuine or real intention to work for your sponsor

Health insurance

Be in good health

Meet the Public Interest Criteria ("PICs"), a few examples include:

Must not owe money to the Australian Government

Must be of good character

Must hold a valid passport
